Our culture is a mess.
We see Christians punished for living out their faith. In our colleges, critical thinking is out and students are indoctrinated by leftist professors. Our TV, films and music are sexualized beyond belief. Violence is escalating in our cities. And there seems to be no room for Jesus anywhere.
What’s a Christian to do?
Offer grace. That’s what Jesus did.
Remember when Jesus was criticized for dining in the reviled tax-collector Matthew’s home with other “sinners”?
Jesus’ response was, “They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.”
We also need to afford kindness and grace. Even when those who oppose Christ turn up the heat of hostility, our response must be that of reason and grace. Being Christ-like is truly difficult at times, but it must be our priority.
Our nation sees plenty of violence and deceit and false teachings. We, as followers of Christ, must offer something different. That difference is Jesus, who lives in us and affords us the facility to be people of grace.
We must do our part and trust God with the rest. He is in control.
Your friend in Christ,
